A little repetitive, but spot-on in his analysis and advice.

Funny thing, I read this book because several military leaders recommended it as a must… to include the commander of OSI. Though absolutely right in its premise, the audiobook was difficult for me to get through…😩 But with its monotonous, deliberate tempo, I found it to be good for meditation and focusing on breathing. 🤷🏽‍♀️💆🏽‍♀️🧘🏽‍♀️ I asked Jamie about his opinion— he began gushing about the author (National Security Advisor to Sen John McCain, among other things…) and then he also gushed about the book, federal procurement, blah blah… so I turned to my tried and true— my sister. Surely she would say she was bored out of her mind. Nope. More gushing. Though shattered and befuddled by how I could be so wrong about a book 🤔, I will say— though listening to the book was like a slow and painful sunburn that one might get while sitting on cheap vinyl seats in a car without windows or AC, everything he says is true. America continues to fight wars that have since evolved. We continue to buy and build big, defenseless, ungodly expensive weapons that are oft not of use, too expensive to sacrifice, or antiquated for the battle at hand. In the age of AI, tech, war by other means— we are ever slow at making the pivot to a virtual reality where wars are won and lost in the matrix. And with that, it’s only a matter of time. And China’s got next in the kill chain. 💯

The description of the tech is a bit overhyped/breathless — but I suppose that might fit the audience.
