Great book, really enjoyed the take down, even though we didn't get to see all of them, and yeah, a great book! Can't wait for Thankless, because it sounds really good! Also, need to reread this series!

Great listen!

This one was okay. The best part was the end. I love the hero and heroine!

An accountant and beloved wife and mother is found dead and Eve must figure out who killed her.

SpoilerEve comes to the conclusion that her death had to do with the audits she was doing, and starts investigating a number of people, many of whom make pretty good suspects.

The accountant isn't the only one who ends up dead, and even Eve and Peabody are in the killer's crosshairs.

It turns out that one of the most arrogant of their suspects, who had been committing fraud and conning people, was in danger of being discovered by the audit, decided to make his problems go away, by sending his goon to "take care of them".

The goon, who finds that he has a taste for killing, isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer and eventually decides to settle the score with Eve, who made him look bad.

Eve ends up trapping him during the Icove case vid premiere and bringing down both the arrogant employer and his various partners in crime
.

Not my favorite in the series, but still an engaging story, with favorite characters whom I always enjoy reading about. This is one that I didn't figure out the killer until they said who it was. I loved the scenes with Roarke and Eve in this book. There were some parts I was laughing out loud. After this many books it is still an enjoyable read.

Loved it. A victim you really felt for (althought victims 2 & 3, not so much), and more great one-liners from Dallas and Peabody.

The worst I will ever give her is four stars because I love the depth of her characters, but this mystery was one of the more formula mysteries. It didn't have the sci fi twists and turns. Truthfully, though, that's one of the things I appreciate about this series, you never know if it is going to be twisty and bizarre and sci fi or is it going to be a straightforward procedural.
