Another winning instalment

Archer does it again! I think stories that span a number of books can be difficult to get right, with the following books sometimes feeling a bit like ‘filler’ or losing their momentum, but this doesn’t. The same great humour, sass and great sci fi references continue throughout which is also what I loved so much from book 1. We get to find out more from some of the loose ends from the previous book, but also some new storylines open up as well which was great. Overall a brilliant, enjoyable read and yet now I have to begin the wait all over again for the next one!

This is series is f*cking hilarious. This is the second installment in the Tentactular Tales series by Chloe Archer, and I listened to the audiobook narrated by Greg Boudreaux.

River helps relax Kai deep nature. Kai is usually very set on work and work duties alone having had an issue in his younger years with a human not being so kind to his alien side; however, River changes all that. River and Kai have entered a relationship from the end of the book one; however, it is put to the test with the resurgence of ex-relationship from Kai’s past. Kai’s ex tend to mess with his head a little too much, making him second guess himself when it comes to River.

We get to see a little more of the side characters with this second installment. Evan, River’s best friend, sets his sights on a new arrival to Earth. And then there’s Mel, Kai’s brother. He’ll open up about his feelings eventually. Then there’s Benji, River’s brother, the high artist, who drives Mel crazy without even trying… or knowing. (Lol!)

Most of my Greg Boudreaux listens are more of the serious listen so beginning this series was a bit different. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy him in such a relaxed role as a did. This is a top ten, everyone should listen if you want a good hearted laugh.

10/10 recommend this series! I hardly listen to comedies, I’m more of a serious tone reader so it’s rare to find a romantic comedy that I want more of. I count the number of authors on one hand and Chloe Archer is included in that number. Highly recommend!

*Listener Note: I received a free copy of this audiobook through Gay Romance Reviews (GRR) and this is my honest review.

Aliens, tentacles, princes, battle to live, and stories that entice the galaxy. Can’t Help Falling In Love With an Alien is book 2 in the Tentacular series.

Kai and River are together and hoping to complete the mating ritual and become engaged. There are plenty of obstacles for them to deal with. The most prominent is Kai’s ex. River and Kai are working with the Alliance to find and remove a drug ring. Somehow the ex is involved, they just can’t quite pinpoint how. Plus, there is a group of gorgeous aliens who have relocated to Earth but aren’t able to be out in public due to their unique coloring. River, the genius problem solver ha found a way to help. A hilarious, sexy, lucrative way. Oh! And if that isn’t enough stuff to deal with, River’s crazy relatives have hired assassins to come after him.

This is a HFN installment, but that’s okay because this story is so fun you’re not going to be sad waiting for book 3. Chloe Archer is a fabulously witty, charming, steamy writer. Kai and his tentacles are put to great use in loving River. Kai is a grump/pragmatist and River is a whole bucket of sunshiny goodness. This prince is a queen and knows how to express it.

Greg Boudreaux is a writer and readers dream for a narrator. He doesn’t just read the story. He brings the story to life. I know if I am listening to a story read by him the enjoyment factor increases significantly.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Not as funny as the last one, and it doesn't have the excitement of new love as it's the same main characters as the last book, but still very sweet relationship. The book is low angst, I didn't even feel the characters emotions when they were going through something. And their relationship was never in question so that wasn't a concern.

The expanding plot is interesting, but the potential love matches in the wings still seemed more interesting. I don't tend to care too much for series featuring the same characters, so this is expected for me. I hope we also get to know Chewy more.

This is a series that must be read in order because a lot of the 2nd book builds off of the events and people in the 1st book.

I have read this book in digital format and listened to it on audio. The audio is fantastic! The narrator does a great job bringing the world and characters to life. The way he narrates brings the humor out even more and makes this a great and super fun listen!

The 2nd full book in the series starts off with a bunch of fun and laughs.  It is funny and quirky and has a lof of unique aspects that are highly entertaining.. Kai and River are a cute couple. They are so sweet and cute as a couple and I look forward to seeing this relationship evolve. on that note, there are a few other relationships I would also love to see form and evolve, not to mention a couple back stories.   The pop culture refrences are fun though some might feel questionable to a lot of people. "Can't Help Falling in Love with and Alien," is a much steamier book compared to the 1st and the appendages are much more involved. I can't wait for the next book and hope for more answers to the mystery arcs that the series has so far.

Just as good as the first

I love this series!! It's funny without being ridiculous in a bad way. River is the iconic geek and Kai loves him so much! I can't wait to see how Benji and Mal get together and more of the mating rituals with Kai and river and maybe Benji and Mal and maybe Evan and his ice planet barbarian!

What a ride! I LOVED this book. I know it’s oftentimes hard writing a sequel just as good as the first book, if not even better, but this is obviously the case here. I couldn’t wait to read this book. I re-read the first one right before, so I can fully immerse myself in the story and suggest you do the same. Just because we can never get enough of all the tentacles
