I was late reading this as me being silly hadn’t noted it was the second book in the Ashes of Thezmarr series so had to read Iron & Embers first.  At this point I should say I haven’t yet read The Legends of Thezmarr so I really need to read this and I will then re-read this series.

Iron & Embers was a 5 ⭐️ read for me, but unfortunately this fell a little short.

This one didn’t have the same magic that kept me gripped, that I found in book 1, but it was still such an entertaining read and I will be continuing the series when Sikver & Smoke releases later this year.

The yearning and tension of that first half was intense!

Honestly Helen knows how to write a book that has me hooked from the start from the characters, world and writing style.

I need the next book right now cause that ending!!!

This was a good sequel. I liked how finding the cure worked. The set up of her engagement was a little heavy handed but it still was good. I appreciated the ending because it wasn't too much of a cliffhanger but I'm ready for more.
