These books started out well, but are just exceedingly over the top now. Also I'm done hearing about Joe Vik every page.

This one broke my heart for Theo.

I sincerely appreciate having won this as part of a Goodreads give-away. I really like this author and this is another story that didn't disappoint. I did find the ending a bit far-fetched but not out of the realm the main character might do. I should state that I am a tech person with a degree in CS so that is part of the appeal and I understand the technical pieces he talks about. I would hope the unique nature of these mysteries would attract others but I can't be sure of that so I just wanted to warn about the subject matter. Now I have to go back and read the third one I skipped over to get to this give-away.

Once again, Theo is searching for a serial killer that most people don't think exists. This time, he's after a nurse that leaves behind several dead patients when she leaves a hospital. Children, homeless men, it doesn't seem to matter to her -- she likes taking lives. This time Theo is going to have to do some serious investigation though, including some method acting, all while brushing off the relationship (s) in his life.

I enjoy the science behind these books and the way in which Theo gets obsessed. He's kind of a jerk, yet, he's great at finding serial killers.
