Bullet point review:
-Even better on the second read. The first time I was speeding across the pages at the end because I was anxious about how it was gonna play out. This time I could read slower and appreciate the action more. It still feels like it went fast and could have had a bit more buildup somehow to the rescue, though.
-Skippy is great and I love him
-I miss Sam
-The cover art really does not match my image of Meg haha
-I teared up when Jean got the jar of honey

Loved this!  Relationships grow more fraught and complicated, the plot gets darker and the stakes are going up and up.

I like that Anne Bishop allowed bad things happen to main and secondary characters.  I don't need them to always be perfect or have everything go their way.  Compromise can be so much more interesting.

I really love Meg and Simons' relationship.  It's slow burn but in a way that reveals so much about their characters that I'm (mostly) content to wait for them to figure out how much they love each other.
