If you're unhappy about your career, but don't know what your next move should be, this book offers some structured thinking and useful exercises. It's scope covers everything from figuring out what's actually important for you to experimenting with different side gigs. What I didn't like is that the book doesn't cite any research and examples of pivots aren't super diverse.

Books in this category are pretty much a dime a dozen now, but Seth Godin recommended this so I read it. I like that she also includes steps on what to do to pivot within your own company, rather than only emphasizing self-employment. It has many practical tips and action steps. However, if you've already a lot of books by career coaches, this one won't add anything new.

It was fine. It just felt like yet another self help book that didn’t tell me anything different than all the others I read. I was really motivated to read a book about a successful woman, but I didn’t feel like anything in it was earth shattering

I’ve read a few books on career and personal development lately. While I didn’t find much in this book that I hadn’t already learned about before, this was the most readable out of all of them. Worth a quick read and going through at least some of the exercises.

This book was incredibly valuable and insightful. Once I finished the book, I immediately started Re-reading chapters applicable to my current career situation.

not bad. Definitely would be better if I was transitioning to a new career path.

I wasn't expecting much as my expectations in insightful books has been painfully lowered. However, I found so much to make note of that I've determined I'll need to own this book. I blazed through listening to this book (at work) and will need to take more time re-reading it. Blake's planning outline is practical and specific. I'll be downloading the toolkit from her website today, but I'm also making a list of people in transition who will make good use of this book.

This book could NOT have come at a better time for me, as I am in the midst of yet another career adventure, now known as a pivot. I am a constant career explorer and was beginning to think there was something wrong with me because I continue to change directions. With Jenny’s assurance that this is the new normal, I no longer feel alone as I pilot new ideas before I fully launch. Jenny’s process on how to pivot in your career is thought out, thorough and actionable.

I found myself nodding, marking and taking notes to make my next career exploration the best yet. If you’re thinking of changing careers and are not sure how to go about it, I am confident Pivot will help you figure out what is the next move for you, and give you the tools you need to succeed in your future adventures.
