a very belated review considering I finished this over a month ago but let me just start off with how this book has such a special place in my heart :( <3 ann liang never fails to delight and CAZELIZA served everything I didn't know I needed and more and absolutely everything about this book was just so *chefskiss*. if I could kidnap any book that's ever been written over the past twenty-one centuries, it would be this book; except no amount of ransom would ever persuade me to give it back.

this time it's real brought back all the elements of every single one of my favourite kdramas and romcom novels of all time—I mean, have you ever heard of anything better for the soul? this is truly such a heartwarming and soul-stirring story, and I will forever be grateful to ann liang for taking up the mantle to write it. ANN LIANG I AM IN DEBT!!!! IF YOU NEED A BETA READER FOR I AM NOT JESSICA CHEN..... YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIND ME (my address is ******** **** ***** *******. I expect to receive a package in the mail soon.)

but in all seriousness, please pick up this book. you won't regret it. and please watch out for ann liang and her next book I Am Not Jessica Chen! I can already bet that it's another doozy. enjoy and if anyone wants to scream over elizacaz (CAZ BBY)... well, you know where to find me (hint: listed address above.) hehehe

tremendously enjoyable and thoughtful !!!! the concept of not having a stable home to return to because of the constant moving around is just so sad, but we've all got circumstances that we wished could be different

I first saw this author on TikTok and put her books on hold because they felt like cute stories to read. I loved the Asian representation and my younger self would very much relate to Eliza feeling like she doesn’t fit in at school. I read this in a day so it’s a pretty fast read and was a good palette cleanser book for me for sure. I would say there’s definitely plot points that I was felt were pretty unrealistic but the actual relationship was so sweet to me. Caz and Eliza are so cutie pie and I thought their journey was really cute. I love when authors are able to make the way their characters text and talk feel believable and I got that here. Overall it’s a short and sweet YA story and Eliza was a very relatable teenage girl. (I enjoyed it after I stopped questioning their professional choices)

I don’t know….its just too young adult for me.
I need older protagonists.
The fake dating was just not very well done for me

J'aime trop la vibe des livres d'Ann Liang. Celui là était tout aussi bien que les autres ! Caz.

Caz Song= Henry Li
They're both very kind, and considerate. I strongly believe that if Eliza asked, "Wanna do something illegal?" He would've already had all black on and responded, "Only with you." I am in love with this book. So fun! Wish it had one/two more chapters.
