adventurous dark mysterious

I loved the characters there are so many great ones in this series. One of my favorite characters was definitely Madame Lefoux she was so intelligent and funny. Another interesting part of the series is the descriptions of the gadgets and technology of their world. There was so much going on I really enjoyed trying to figure out the mystery and culprits motives. The ending was such a surprise to me I must find out what happens next.

I thought this one was considerably better than Soulless. It just had better flow, and better action. There was a bit less silly romance, although there was some, and it ends on a dramatic note. But, as a whole I thought it was fun and action packed.

I know I can't, but the ending of this book really made me wish I had the ability to yell at fictional characters when they're being dumb. Other than the last chapter, I thought this book was cute and loved seeing Alexia and Conall newly married and their cute interactions. Ivy and Felicity were a bit on the irritating side but still kind of entertaining. We got to meet a pack of Scottish werewolves. Just overall a good time.

Not as good as the first one but still an hilarious, fun read.

3.5 stars actually. After all there is angst with a cliff hanger.

Why, why, why, isn’t it September already? I’ve just finished reading Changeless, in one day no less, the second book in Gail Carriger’s Parasol Protectorate series and I simply cannot wait for the third book to be released.
Fans of Carriger’s first book Soulless will not be disappointed. Alexis Tarabotti, now Lady Maccon, is back and just as feisty and brilliant as ever.
Equipped with her trusty parasol and an incredible sense of style her investigations continue as does her rather complicated relationship with her husband Connal (even more complicated at the end which is why I cannot wait to for September). Steampunk, vampires, werewolves and good old nineteenth century manners, what more could a girl want?

In this, the 2nd book in the parasol protectorate series, Alexia Tarabotti is quite happily married to the alpha Werewolf, Connell Macon. Now that she is married, as a soulless she has been appointed to the position as mouja to the crown. And as such, she is often called on to help solve problems that cannot be solved by werewolves or vampires alone. In this case, there seems to be something happening that renders vampires and werewolves human, and exercises any ghosts caught within its boundaries from existence. But whether it is a plague or a weapon of some sort remains to be determined.

I listened to the audiobook version of this book. The narrator did an excellent job with differentiating between the characters. The story was fun and entertaining with a dramatic ending that left me dying to see what happens in the next book. I would recommend this book to anyone who has read the first book, as well as to anyone who enjoys werewolves, vampires, ghosts, and the paranormal. And anyone who enjoyed the first book in the series should also enjoy this book as well.

I really love this style of writing. The word-play is impressive. Also, the author puts a fair bit of detail into the clothing styles of the time period. Love it!
