This started off really strong and i loved  the writing style, but then nothing really happened, and i was just forcing myself to read it and wanted it to end.

I didn't actually finish this book. I just got kinda bored. I liked little snippets of it but overall it didn't grab me.

While some pages or paragraphs were amazingly written (and fully deserving of the phrase "a poets novel") these were too few and far between to get me to finish this rambling story about... yeah, about what, exactly? That is my main problem with it, that it did not seem to head anywhere. I understand this is not always necessary, but while the few Beautiful (capital B intentional) paragraphs were truly epic and made me yearn for more, the story just didn't interest me enough to keep reading.

i don’t know how to feel. i loved the message but it just didn’t suck me in. i felt like i was reading on autopilot. i resonated with a lot of what she was saying. it was just very slow, and i understand it’s a memoir so she can’t really rewrite her life and make it fast paced, but maybe it was just her writing style. not a bad book though, i did enjoy a lot of it.

I was confused on many parts because of the back and forth of the timeline and the long list of names to remember. However, I liked some of the stories told within the book and the parts about the main character discovering her sexuality.
