Kafka Asagiri's writing shines best in his light novels--to a point where I often question if being a mangaka rather than a novelist was always his intention--and Storm Bringer might be the best example of this.
Storm Bringer presents the reader with many questions about humanity: what it means to be human, how those who are outcast deal with their emotions, how the aftermath of abuse affects different people, and much more. Arguably, there is no "real" villain in this story; there are only people following orders, reacting to their pain, or simply doing what they think is best for the greater good. That being said,

if Professor Nakahara weren't already dead I'd find a way to kill him myself.
