I traveled to PEI this summer for an Anne of Green Gables event & heard about the book there. I loved how it started out. Loved the characters (mostly) and thought the audiobook reader (AJ Bridel) did a terrific job narrating it. Great for a beach read, it's just that sort of thing. I loved all the Prince Edward Island references, the places there, the restaurants, beaches, lighthouses, Cows Ice Cream, etc.
But the book was just too long, the "secret" was meh, the plot was meh. I thought the author attempted to replicate Anne of Green Gables & so made this a love story to both Bridget and to Felix (Wolf) but it ended up just being kinda awkward and too long. Not that I minded either love story... it was just too much in 1 novel. Also: far too many "shucking" jokes.
N.B. No one in their right mind would plant roses from seeds! Cute idea though -- the seeds for books exchange.

Fun!! Which according to the writer is what this books was when writing it.
It was fun, it was emotional, there was some sense of being on the edge of your seat, there was a twist I didn’t see.
I fell in love with the characters quick and while reading it felt as though I was on the island with them.
I didn’t want it to end and hope there will be a second book….
