This short Novella is a cute, fade to black romance, that really just made me mad! Blue Collar Crush is a short Novella laying out the beginnings of Peppy and Thatcher's story. Jill Brashear does a fabulous job laying out the ground work and sparking interest for these characters. The cliff hanger that ends the Novella is maddening, and impatiently waiting for the next installment.

Blue Collar Crush is a modern romance novella by Jill Brashear, and is a prequel to her upcoming release, Sincerely Thatcher Hayes. The short story follows Peppy, a 17 year old privileged and wealthy teen, and Thatcher, a 19 year preparing to leave town on a Scholarship. Peppy and Thatcher make their unlikely acquaintance at a summer party while Thatcher is in town helping an ill family member. This novella offers a glimpse into first love, a bit of spice with a fade to black scene, and at times, the inevitability of disappointment in these teen experiences.

This was a quick look into Peppy and Thatcher's first meeting and how their feelings for each other began. Though this was short, it still hooks you, and I'm really looking forward to catching up with them both in Sincerely, Thatcher Hayes. It's sure to be an interesting ride. I do love a second-chance romance!

Ok, so I wasn't a huge fan of this book - it's about a high school senior and a guy who just graduated high school - but I was reading other reviews and found out this is a prequel to another book in a romance series about adults. That changed my whole perspective on this book. I thought the whole series was about high schoolers, and while it was cute and had fade to black scenes, it still wasn't my cup of tea. But now I have a feeling this was a crucial piece to Peppy and Thatcher's story, which is coming out soon!

I really enjoy Jill Brashear's writing, so I'll be picking up the first book in the Blue Ridge Book Club series to catch up before the full length novel about Peppy and Thatcher comes out!

Cute novella, can't wait to read Peppy and Thatchers love story.

3.5 star rating. Thanks to the Jill Brashear for an advanced copy for my honest review.

This is a fun little teaser prologue to Sincerely, Thatcher Hayes which will be out in May.
We all knew there was some history between the enigmatic Thatcher and single mum, Pressly/Peppy when they were introduced in Love, Lacey Donovan and I can't wait to read their story.
Blue Collar Crush is a short read but packs a punch and lays the groundwork for the conflict we've seen so far.
Peppy (suitably nicknamed) is young and energetic. Caring for her younger brother (Beckett) while their father is on his honeymoon and their older sisters went to the city for interships.
For Peppy, this summer isn't anything to be peppy about until she lays eyes on Thatcher.
Thatcher is in town to help his uncle as he recovers from surgery and coaching the baseball team Beckett plays on.
He's not like the boys she knows, which, as we all know, is half of the appeal. Hands up who's ever been enamoured by someone totally out of their comfort zone?
