i thought that this was really interesting but the twist ending was kind of abrupt. interesting, but warranted more exploration I think? I don't know how to feel it felt a little like it was there for shock value not to further the story or provoke thought...then again here I am. Still thinking about it

I appreciate the additional context that the novel provides after watching the film. The small details about each cardinal and the setting brought the novel to life. I was puzzled that the twist got dropped  within the last 3-4 pages or so… I wish that was given at least another chapter to further flesh out but whatever … It was an interesting creative choice from the author that was executed OK.
