Very good. Highly recommend. It was enlightening to get a glimpse behind the curtain of the lives of Instagram influencers. They're worse than I thought. Ugh.

I desperately wanted to love this because of the relevant topic (being social media, obviously). It wasn’t until about the 65% mark that I genuinely became intrigued with the book and where the story was going. It’s definitely a slow-burning thriller, at least in my opinion. I think that the main character, Emmy, was pretty crappy but I think that’s what I was supposed to feel as the reader? She definitely didn’t deserve what happened but overall I just thought she was super artificial and attention-seeking. She saw no problem with any of her wrongdoings. I will say, during the last 35% of the book (approximately) I had a very hard time putting the book down. The drama & suspense was killing me.

There is absolutely nothing redeeming about this book. It's just a terrible book. Most of it was incredibly boring then when you actually got to the "thriller" parts... I would not say thrilling, I would say, extremely disgusting. Nothing about brutal infant death is thrilling to me at all. It's just disturbing. Also, the writing was just absolutely terrible. This book is just terrible people doing terrible things. I wish I could give 0 stars.

I can’t DNF a thriller because like WHAT IF IT GETS THRILLING. This did not get thrilling - I’m entirely un-thrilled. There was also 0 character development.

Oh my gosh, this book was a roller coaster! It had so much commentary on influencer culture and motherhood.

Emmy was a horrible character but I could not stop reading to figure out what she was going to do next!!! And Dan is a complex character to see how he felt about his wife’s job but just going and doing the same thing once she is saved from the stalker.

Why in the world is this book so lowly rated? It has interesting MC’s who definitely walk a moral tightrope based on what they’re willing to do, not only for a level of fame, but also just to keep paying the bills. The true villain of the novel is slowly introduced, where we learn more and more about just what it is they have in store for Emmy, and why. I found this person truly diabolical for what they were willing to do. I also understood their motive, even if I felt it was mostly misplaced, and what this person was willing to do is fully sinister. Maybe it’s the end people didn’t love? I actually preferred it to the way some other books like this end.

Overall, this is a family drama, a psychological thriller, a mystery, as well as a bit of romance mixed in. Really one of the more enjoyable books for me so far this year!
