This is a bit of a tough one, because of many things. Slow start, predictable plot, "surprise I am related to you", a lot of the world building just kinda.. Glossed over. But I still thought the setting and language was very very refreshing and the dynamic between Zafira and Edgy mcEdgeboy Nasir pretty delightful. Eh, I will read the next one.

The world building takes time, but it is all necessary to be fully wrapped within the world of Arawiya. The story unfolds in such a beautiful and welcoming way. I loved how it coaxed me along and made me devour it in turn.

You know it's good when you cry your eyes out and it's not even at the 1/3rd of the book ...
This is really not a happy book, my heart breaks for everyone. They all just need a huge hug. :(
