Beautifully written, the tone and descriptions and ways of saying things were all so well done. This was short but the characters came alive, and were all so unique and interesting. I truly loved this novella.

I had to return to the library and never went back to get it. but it was a good read in the beginning.
I'm torn on this. I finished it in a day. Some passages were simply lyrical. The voice was so authentic. But I felt the ending just dropped off. I was so invested in the characters - It felt incomplete
Jacqueline Woodson is an amazing writer...so lyrical that even her prose reads like poetry.

Lots of history woven through as we watch August and her girlfriends navigate their pre-teen/teen years dealing with boys, sex, grief, belonging, betrayal and abandonment. Really beautifully written.

Another good story by Woodson. Ends abruptly, I think it could be a little longer.
