4.01 AVERAGE

2 stars for the language and romance, apart from that nothing worth mentioning. I'm disappointed the series went into this direction.

I didn’t like the chapters of Kamran. They were just boring. But I loved the tense between Cyrus and Alizeh.

I really enjoyed These Infinite Threads! This sequel dives even deeper into the rich, lush world Tahereh Mafi built in This Woven Kingdom, and I loved how much more we got to explore—especially when it comes to the Jinn, their magic, and the different kingdoms at play. The writing, as always, is poetic and emotional, sometimes to the point of feeling like you're floating through a dream (or drowning in feelings). It’s definitely one of those books where the prose itself is part of the experience.
Alizeh continues to be a fascinating main character. She's strong, smart, and torn between her heart and the heavy responsibilities that come with her destiny. And Kamran? I felt for him. He’s spiraling a bit in this one, trying to hold onto what he believes in while everything around him shifts. Their separation for most of the book was frustrating—but in a good way. The tension is still there, but it’s more about longing and impossible choices than swoony moments, which I personally liked.
Now, Cyrus. Wow. He’s such a wildcard. I didn’t know whether to scream at him or be intrigued by him—or both at once. He added a whole new layer of tension and unpredictability to the story, which really kept things moving.
The pacing felt a bit slower in parts, especially when the story gets caught up in inner monologues and dreamy reflections, but I never lost interest. The emotional depth, the worldbuilding, and the hints of what’s to come totally made up for it. This book definitely felt like the middle of something bigger, but I’m fully invested. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out in the next one.

y’know what, i too would be besotted with alizeh to the point of madness. she stays winning having two devastatingly loveable (mostly) characters match that description.

in all seriousness, i enjoyed this book quite a bit though i feel that the pacing on certain parts could be adjusted for a more enjoyable read. it feels as though some parts needed more word count to be fleshed out fully… whereas other parts could have used much much less. i almost wish more happened in this book, as the ending feels like a weird place to leave off as a cliffhanger.

i am, however, excited to see how the story unfolds and anticipating alizeh will be taking actions that have dire consequences in this next book… yippee.

i still cannot tell if i am rooting for kamran or cyrus. i was much less frustrated with kamran than the other reviews seem to be, perhaps only because i expected frustrating thoughts and actions from a character who experienced so much trauma and grief in a short amount of time. and i may be leaning towards him as the love interest, if only due to exposure to him happening first. cyrus’s charm and grovelling is not lost on me, i’d be head over heels for him surely… but i just cannot find myself to give up on kamran yet. though i do find myself rooting for cyrus’s freedom from the devil, with much caution in my attachment, as i know how these plot lines often unfold.
