The events in this book take place within the span of 24 hrs and I was enamored with it the whole time. I love Tahereh’s writing. A perfect balance of humor, tension, and devastating characters.

Fascinating how captivating I found this book considering that practically nothing at all happened, at least plot-wise.

Admittedly, I was worried in the start that I wouldn’t enjoy this one as much as the previous. Personally cannot stand miscommunication and/or misunderstanding being a big part of a plot, which I worried would be the case here. However, while not fully resolved, people around Kamran (adore you Hazan, Omed, miss Huda, Deen!) helped him realise that maybe Alizeh hadn’t betrayed him. Or, he wasn’t as dead set on killing her on sight anymore at least, which in turn helped me enjoy the book more.

Will probably extend the review a bit later, when I have more time to write it, but overall I enjoyed the book a surprising amount. It’s 400 pages yet it didn’t feel that way at all. Not a lot of plot is happening, yet I enjoyed the characters and therefore don’t mind spending time with them. I do hope there will be more plot for the next books however.

For now, onto the next book!

slightly better than the first, but it baffles me how this book took place in only 38~ish hours like barely over a day ?? regardless it was fairly enjoyable although the first half was a bit slow

Even though this book moved painfully slow most of the time and introduced some plots that I didn't like, I cannot give it anything less. I really do love these characters. Cyrus and Alizeh are just mmmm :))))
