I enjoyed the first book. The sequel was 31 chapters, 11 hours and somehow very little actually happened besides a lot of whining and useless arguing. I had really hoped for more.

literally nothing happened in this book and it was set in a span of two days but the yearning made up for it, def a 4 star mood read

My heart is BROKEN, in the best way. This was an absolutely delicious read. Admittedly, not much happens in terms of plot, but somehow, it was everything. I couldn’t look away. I devoured page after page, completely consumed, and then, by the end I came undone.
The unraveling of the story, the growing intensity, the revelation of Cyrus (oh, Cyrus…), it was all so perfectly executed. I’m aching to dive into the next book, but I’m also hesitating… because once I do, the wait for book four begins, and I’m not ready for that kind of suffering.
Tahereh Mafi is a master of male characters, brooding, magnetic, and layered but beyond that, she crafts stories that are witty, emotionally rich, and full of personality. This book is the perfect storm of charm and devastation, and that’s exactly what I want in a great read.
4.5 stars, because it wrecked me in the most satisfying way.
