I’m really torn between 4.5 and 4.75 stars, but I rounded down.

Unlike the first book, it picked up right after the first one, so I was immediately hooked. I LOVE the characters and banter. Alizeh is such a queen, and I think this is the first time I actually like both guys in a love triangle 🀭

As with the first book, the world building is incredible. Tulan is brilliant and I can imagine myself in this magical world. The writing style is beautiful, really descriptive but often finding moments to make me laugh.

However, I felt like there wasn’t much development in the plot of this book. The characters and relationships, sure. But the plot didnt actually move forward that much. I was a little annoyed at the fact that every other chapter was from Kamran’s perspective in the beginning, because Alizeh and Cyrus are the πŸ’© (I love them)

The ending was crazy, the yearning from Cyrus is peak. Definitely reading the next one, I just hope the plot develops a little more!!

Despite being 400 pages, it didn't feel like a complete book. Not much happened, it was mostly that Alizeh went from instaloving one boy to instaloving another in like, three days. As a slow burn lover, that ain't for me.

Also, Kamran is a douche and there's just no way we're supposed to like him or root for him, right?

I feel that there are quite a lot of things about this series/world that don't make sense and I had hoped to have some more explanations by now. Still, I enjoyed reading the book and will most likely read the next as well.

4β˜† even though this book did disappoint me a little bit, I also had a very good time with it. And I didn’t feel like it was dragging or that I felt bored.

I did not entirely like the characters in this book, they are always fighting each other or insulting each other, they feel betrayed by each other (and sometimes I really enjoyed these moments, especially when Alizeh makes them, but after a time you get it). But in the end both boys have feelings for Alizeh. So I hope that will change in the next book, otherwise I will be a bit upset.

It’s really obvious that this book is a love triangle and at this point I don’t know which boy will win it.
If I look at the plot I am not entirely sure that this book delivered, we kind of had the same problem as in the last book, and I don’t see a clear plot for the future book. I know that the prophecy of Alizeh is very important: she is of course supposed to rule her people but we haven’t seen a lot of progress towards that. So I am a bit confused but still had a good time with it as well.

I am excited to see what the next book does, and hopefully it can raise my rating a bit higher.

4.5 ⭐️ I enjoyed this as much as the first one it’s just so fun and entertaining. As much as I love Kamran I think I’m team Cyrus ! I absolutely love their interactions and their banter, they’re meant to be honestly. I also feel so bad for him and what he’s going through…But I also feel bad for Kamran ughhh I think this is the first time I like both male leads. A little scared of what will happen when everyone meets again but very excited to start book 3 !!
