4 .25 ⭐️ if this didn’t have any of Kamran’s chapters I would be set on this book. He gives massive Chaol energy which is not a good thing. Only thing that makes up for its is his fanart.

- Love Hazan (and basically the whole group, including Omen and Miss Huda). And I love how protective he is of Alizeh
- Kamran’s chapters bore me (unless there was Hazan present)
- I love the friendship between Hazan and Kamran, I love the humour the two of them share and the dialogues between them are so entertaining
- Was hard to believe in this instant love between Alizeh and Kamran, so I liked this slow (but not slow enough) burn between Alizeh and Cyrus. However, the idea of them I had in mind was better than what turned out actually
- Reminded me of acomaf: the heroine was taken by this mysterious man who everyone thinks to be evil, she herself regards him with prejudice until discovers she’s actually falling for him. But I felt like Alizeh changed her opinion of him a bit too quickly. The pace generally was so different from the previous book (it was a little rushed imo)
- One thing that gave me the ick is how Cyrus objectified Alizeh, especially in the first part of the book. The banter between them was unmatchable tho
- Having nosta is quite convenient. Too convenient, perhaps. Maybe it would have been better if Alizeh didn't rely on it and rather had her own doubts or believed someone simply because she chose to (or because some deserved her trust)
- Cyrus is so dramatic for no reason. For example, even though it was his idea for Alizeh to kill him afterwards, he constantly kept using it to manipulate her emotionally. Plus his kind of love confession at the end was a bit over the top
- Love the world building, it’s quite interesting
- The writing is so easy to follow and yet it is so beautiful and descriptive

The tone of this book felt like unraveling a carefully constructed puzzle, every piece falling into place with the most satisfying kind of precision. I usually detest miscommunication tropes, but here? They were handled with such intention and care that I found myself actually enjoying them. Each misunderstanding served a purpose, and every resolution felt earned, never forced.
Everything I loved about the first book, the richly drawn characters, the pacing, the emotional pull, the immersive plot, it all carried over seamlessly. In fact, I think I might've loved this one even more than the first.
Now let's talk about Cyrus. I genuinely don't think l've ever read an "enemy-to-lover" male lead quite like him. Just when I thought I was fully on Kamran's side, Cyrus stormed in, charming, infuriating, and somehow completely irresistible.
Yes, he was an ass at first, but beneath that edge was so much depth and longing it was impossible not to fall for him.
His story, his pain, the yearning, it's addictive. Chapter 29 felt like a religious experience. I was gone.
And now with this love triangle? I fear l'm already too far gone rooting shamelessly for the obvious wrong choice, and loving every second of it and I'm eagerly going to jumped straight into the third book.
