I sped right through this audiobook and then had to check out the digital version, so I could see the pictures! This is a really great read and an important resource for white people who don't understand the microaggressions that they might be committing every day. Also - def listen to the audiobook for Amber's version of "Reflection" from Mulan about her sleepy daddy lol

Even though these events were the opposite of fun when they happened, mad props to Amber and Lacey for finding humor in the situation. So many situations were familiar. It sucks knowing I’m not alone, but also makes me feel a little bit better knowing I’m not alone.

This was equal parts hilarious and horrifying. Everyone needs to read this to see just how pervasive and draining racism is. My mouth definitely dropped open at the sheer nerve of some of the white people in this book. They were the worst!! Mostly though, these stories did not surprise me. I was really glad to see how Amber and Lacey turned it into comedy and were able to laugh about it.

This book was sad at times, silly at times, shocking at times. Really well written. I loved the narrative voice. Sad that this is non-fiction.
