This book is heavy and sad, but also so beautful. Both characters have so much to work through and they figure out how to do it together. I was entralled by them and their connection. Amy Daws has a wonderful way of giving us love, depth, and spice. I have yet to be let down by her.

Heartbreaking and Beautiful
Hayden and Vi's story was heartbreaking and so so beautiful. It touched on some major subjects but Amy Daws wrote about them well. So much gutwrenching goodness in this book!

I absolutely adored this book. Wes is probably one of the most complex and vulnerable men I have ever read, and Vi is such a breath of fresh air as a female MC. I read this out of order in the Harris Brothers' series - I read it last, and I loved it five-star rating enough... BUT it really would have been awesome to read it in order. Regardless, I was so gutted by this book. All the feels - and I am so touched and have this as one of my best books I've read this year.

What a fantastic book to add to the Harris Brothers world! If you are interested in this series, I'd strongly encourage you to start with this one. It follows the one sister of the Harris family and her journey of falling in love with Hayden. This story feels pretty heavy because of the nature of the mental health issues it involves. There is talk of depression and suicide and Hayden has some very dark moments.
One thing I loved about this story is that Hayden isn't "cured" or fully "healed" by the end. And if you keep reading the series, you learn that Vi still has fears about Hayden's depression all the way into Blindsided (that's the 8th book you guys). This feels VERY realistic to me. Depression doesn't just go away because you fall in love, have a family, and things seem to be going well. It's a walk that many people struggle against their whole lives.
Hayden and Vi do have a beautiful love for each other, even when in the dark.
5 stars!

I started to feel in a rut. I had wanted to read The Harris series for a while. I started Strength which is the sister’s story. It was as amazing as I hoped it would be. The only thing I have to say is that there was a time for two that all these people were in the scene and things got a little confusing. I know that her book is part of the previous series. You can read it as a stand-alone and enjoy it, but for a short moment or two. Overall, it doesn’t distract from the story. Amy you are a rockstar. You balanced things perfectly.

Strength was one of the only books by Amy Daws I hadn’t read yet - and I have no idea why! I loved to get to know both Hayden and Vi better! Especially because they were both a bit broken in different ways, Hayden more so than Vi.
Their story was filled with confusion for both of them - even if they were trying to be clear in what they wanted. Hayden especially thought he had to do things a certain way to prove to himself that he wasn’t broken anymore.

I loved Vi & Hayden’s story. I read the Harris Brothers series first, but I really wanted to know more about Hayden. I refuse to read the book where he’s involved in a love triangle—not my scene. His story with Vi though! He’s the brooding, scarred, emotionally damaged hero & Vi is carrying her own baggage. I just really clicked with Hayden. He’s one of Amy’s best characters.
