I think this may have been my dad's book but somehow I ended up with it and I always have it with me. I know all the stories by heart but I still always have it close by. It's probably one of the reasons I love mythology so much.

Finally finished! Edith knows mythology the way we know the back of our own hand
Relating the tales of ancient Greek and Roman mythology, Edith Hamilton illuminates the enduring histories of immortal Gods and heroic men. Designed for those with a limited background in classic mythology, the book offers an exquisite introduction to the timeless tales of adventure and ancient parables. Commonly an assigned reading for most high school students, the book is additionally an excellent choice for the adult wishing for a fun and leisurely read. --Stephen A.

Greek mythology is fascinating. This book is an excellent place to start if you are interested in the subject.
This is now my favourite reference book for the Greek myths. The author retells the myths by taking each myth from various or combined sources (Ovid, Hesiod, Virgil, Homer etc.) and explains her reasoning for using each source - one is less verbose, another has a certain style that enhances the story, and so on. I love the way she curated the various myth retellings with good reasoning behind her choices. It’s a pretty complete collection of the main myths with some minor ones added in, so I’ll be using it as a reference for years to come.
