This was my first Sarina Bowen read and I actually enjoyed this. It's dual POV and a short but sweet little romance story with some nice steamy parts. I think the 2 MCs were perfectly written and I enjoyed the surrounding characters as well.

This book came pretty damn close to 4 stars! The storyline and characters were alright but the way the MMC was gazing and lost in thought for the FMC really got me feeling fuzzy - especially chapter 15. Plus the easy-bake oven? Be still my heart.

These lines have just called me single in more ways than one:

“We were both after the same thing that night—a little reckless joy.”

“I wanted her in every way a man could want her. I wanted her in my bed, underneath me. I wanted her up against this wall.

I even wanted her to sit beside me on the way to the market, giving me lip for everything I said. And I wanted her hanging out in the kitchen putting cherries in the barbecue sauce and chatting up my sisters.”

“That’s not what I mean. What’s the beautiful part?”

I gathered her hair in my hand and smoothed it off her shoulder, because I couldn’t stop touching her. “I’m holding it right here.”

It’s an okay book, I’ve been wanting to read it since I got a copy of it last year but only got to it this month because I was in a slump — I still am actually. I did think this book will pull me out of my slump, it did but not a lot.

Anyway, I liked the idea of a countryside story, and especially the cider business. The characters were okay, not super memorable but not flat as well. One person I did like a lot was Jude, I’m so interested to know what will happen to him and I’m glad that the next book is about him.

I recommend this book if you want a quick and light read. I will read the next book in the series this year, hopefully I’ll get through all of them soon.
