This was a bit of an odd duck of a book. I can't say it was bad or anything, but there seemed to be so many starts and stops that the action felt a bit all over the place. Usually when I'm reading I can get a good sense of when the book is coming to a head or a climax, but with this one I just felt like the story didn't really know where it was going for parts of it. It was like the author just had a whole bunch of really good ideas and crammed them all into one book and came up with a MacGuffin to tie them all together.
Great story with a sardonic wizard and excellent supporting characters.
Karrin annoyed me pretty much the whole book which is a bummer because I really like the idea of her character. But holy cow she refuses to give anyone the benefit of the doubt and then gets mad when someone doesn’t give it to her. Hypocritical character and it didn’t really seem necessary to make her that way. That and some questionable power levels/scaling holds it back. Other than that, another enjoyable Dresden read!

psych ward read. they didn’t have the first in the series. it kept me entertained but didn’t change my life.

the only reason I finished it is because a friend loaned me the books. I HATE the main character and the plot is boring and poorly written
