Enjoyed the really out there thinking and inclusion of science, but I got a little lost in trying to follow which made it hard to keep reading sometimes.

It’s just so new and interesting which makes me want to keep reading the series.

In the translator’s note at the end of the book, Ken Liu writes about the difficulty of translating a book from one culture to another and how he hoped not to make a literal translation but one that shows the contours and rhythms of the original, Chinese version of the book to an American audience. And I can say that he absolutely triumphed in that regard. Cixin Lou’s novel is bold and exciting, and even though the scientific aspect of it can be a little overwhelming and hard to follow as a person whose main forays into physics were in high school, he’s able to draw you in keep you engaged. Incredibly excited to read the next two books in the series.
