Despite the copious amount of grammatical errors in this book, I completely fell in love with Carter and Olivia. This was a great palate cleanser for me, while still having the right amount of emotional depth and complexity that makes it more than just a fluff read. I wasn’t a huge fan of the miscommunication trope that happens later on in the book, but thankfully that was pretty short-lived.

With all due respect, eliminate the “self-insert fanfiction to self-published novel” pipeline.

I tried for ten days (!!!) to read this book and got less than 200 pages in. Both MCs are insufferable, and the only character I actually liked, who I would have been willing to push through for his book, was Adam, and he doesn’t have a book yet.

Everything about this screams fanfic, from the chapter titles to the absolutely insane back-and-forth "will they/won't they" to keep the fic going to the repeated lines between chapters (because it might have been a minute between updates). I know the formula.

But the thing is, you need to edit it. And this is so not edited.

Most romances are so short you either get insta-love and get to them in a relationship, or you get the slow burn and they get into a relationship right before the end. In this book you get the slow burn and you get to enjoy the relationship. I had really hoped to get through the whole thing without the third act breakup, but no luck. I did love Carter’s character - he’s a lovable goofball.

Captain of the Vancouver Vipers, Carter Beckett, has a reputation for being the NHL’s biggest f*ckboy. Until a petite brunette catches his eye.  Olivia Parker, a high school fitness teacher, girl's hockey coach, and the most beautiful woman Carter has ever set eyes on, knows about Carter & his reputation. After a bit of a chase, Olivia gives in to Carter, risking her entire heart.

There are a lot of mixed reviews for this book. I absolutely loved this book. Carter Beckett is literally a dream, he’s captain of the hockey team and romantic and cocky AF. He knows he’s good and lets everyone else know as well. His outside persona is a hard manwhore, but on the inside, he’s absolutely adorable. I loved how corny this book was, his silly little comments, his obsession with food, and the obsession he has with Olivia.

This book could have been 100 pages shorter if the size of Olivia hadn’t been addressed so many times. We get it, she’s short(5’1”) and he’s big. Did we really need to address it 50 times? There was a lot of repeated information that wasn’t necessary as well, like how Olivia smells like Banana Bread, and Carter smells like lime and musky cedarwood.

My overall rating of Consider Me is 5/5 - without a doubt, I loved this book. Carter is my ultimate book boyfriend. The side characters were an added bonus, I love the dynamic of the team and family members, Hank is probably my favorite, and he’s such an asset to the storyline.

I give this book a 5/5 for spice, the spicy scenes made me wish I was Olivia, being thrown up against walls, pulled by my ankles, & OH EM GEE, the tie as a blindfold scene! YES PLEASE!

I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who likes sports romance, hockey, dual POV, and HEA. I laughed so much through this book, and if you tell anyone I’ll deny it, but I also teared up several times.

This is definitely in my Top 10 for 2023!

Wow, Tik Tok got it right with this one! I really really enjoyed reading this book. I absolutely adore Carter, he’s just a big golden retriever MMC who is obsessed with the FMC. I liked Olivia as well she works hard to overcome her anxiety and insecurities and really learn to trust and communicate with Carter. I appreciated that we really got to see growth from both Olivia and Carter through their journey as a couple. I will say this book did not need to be this long, with some editing an equally strong story could have been portrayed. That being said I Ioved this book, it was smutty and had a lot of heart! I definitely recommend reading Consider Me!
