This book and its characters are so flat and uninteresting I had no desire to keep going. Also who cares if she only wears black it's not special.

Loved this! Finished the audiobook in one sitting.
Can't wait to read more by Olivia Dade

This was a sweet, uncomplicated read that I enjoyed but it didn't wow me. There were a bunch of things that were appealing:

-main characters in their 40s
-teaching context (use of the word pedagogy has never been so appealing)
-unconventional male character that was refreshing

All that said, it wasn't a page turner for me; it was just pleasant. There were plot areas that lacked finesse and maybe would have worked better for me with more development. I would try Olivia Dade again but I want to be a bit more wowed if possible.

I loved this book so much! Rose is such a strong female character. Martin is a teddy bear. I loved their banter. I highly recommend this.

Audiobook: I am going through the back catalog of Olivia Dade since I love her Spoiler Alert series. This is the first book of the Marysburg series. This kind of fell flat for me towards the end. We had this big build up of the two teachers getting together and then it was like “uh wait no we can’t do this” after things already been progressing. I did like that the two characters were older and not in their 20s. Always happy to be reading a plus size romance!!! Looking forward to reading the next one.

This is one of the cheesiest books I've ever read, but it was a really fun, quick read. Recommend if you just want something fluffy and sweet.

Main character woman who has lots of guards up. Love interest dad of high schooler. Both are divorced. Both have past trauma and have a hard time accepting love.
