3.5 stars. I knew from the first chapter how it would end. A friend assured me it was too sad so I kept going. 🫠 The entire middle pissed me off. These two never once cared enough to fight for each other. They were distant and never out forth effort. I didn’t really get invested. The last two chapters got me though. I cried. And that made me madder. Would have been three stars but the author finally got me to care about Ellie and Jack. Right at the end of their lives. 🫩

I liked it, it was rather predictable and sometimes went too fast, but I still liked it.

If you’re a Nicholas Sparks fan, then this book is for you. Buck Turner’s writing is very similar, but his books take place in Tennessee and not North Carolina.

This book reminded me of the Notebook, but had its only play on the similar love story. I loved that this book focus is on the characters love for one another and their ambitions in life. In the end what’s most important, those who are in your life sharing the adventures, or the adventures themselves.

I will most definitely be checking out some of Buck Turner’s other books.
