3.5 star super fast easy read! A cute holiday story of a woman really evaluating who she is and if it’s who she wants to be. Meant to read it before Christmas but it wasn’t super holiday-y and still fun to read or listen to!

This was a typical RPE book - quick and full of quotable quotes as it makes its way to the ending. I always appreciate the messages and reminders in his books, but this wasn’t one of my favorites, as I didn’t feel any connection to the characters. I figured out the “secrets” early on, based on the hints dropped throughout, and was just waiting for confirmation as I read. On the other hand, the lack of identification with the characters (especially Noel) makes this a sort of “Everyman” story - these issues can (and do) happen to anyone.
Noel Post hasn't spoken to her father in years, but when he passes away at the same time her life comes crashing down around her ears she has few options. She returns home to Utah and the house and bookstore left to her by her father just in time for the holiday season. Can Noel find healing from a lifetime of hurt and misunderstanding? Can she reconnect with her past and carve herself a new future?

It's one of those books that...I honestly don't know why I read it so fast or why I liked it. The writing wasn't fantastic, and nothing was mind blowing. But it was easy and enjoyable set in a bookstore during christmas. So in the end, I read it in two days, and I really enjoyed it.
A heartwarming and poignant story that made me smile and moved to tears.
It's about grief, changes, forgiveness and life.
I loved the characters, was fascinated by the mystery and couldn't put it down.
It's the first book I read by this author and won't surely be the last.
Highly recommended.

Sweet, quick, hallmark-esk read perfect for the holidays. Had me a bit choked up in the end, so I’d say it was successful.
