“I’m my own f*cking hero, don’t forget it.”
First off, Nephele is one of those badass FMC that I absolutely ADORE. Her undying desire to protect those she loves, and her act of selflessness in the face of war is very admirable. This woman will go to the ends of the earth for those she loves, and it shows. I cannot wait to see her continue to be the badass that she is in the next book!
Second, Neri is a naughty naughty boy!!! He reminds me of my husband with his constant sly remarks

It was nice to continue on from book 2 - I had heard this follows a different storyline so even though our main povs are different you still get some resolution to the city of ruin cliffy.
I wished it was a longer book including Raina and Alexus's pov and some more plot progression.
I also heard this was one of the spiciest books ever. There was one very intense scene, not personally my cup of tea, bit otherwise just normal spice level I felt!
I did really like Nephele and Neri and thr development of their relationship, there was just something missing for me after 2 5 star books this novella was just OK for me.

This book is my favourite in the series so far! The pacing was better than the first two book for me. I love Neri and Nephele. What a match. Neri is now in my top two favourite book boyfriends. The spice at the end of the book was a bit unexpected and slightly out of my normal comfort zone. But this book is just overall brilliant.
Audiobook Review:
I immediately bought this book after finishing City of Ruin because I needed to continue Raina’s story. I was totally surprised, and a bit disappointed, to find out that this book was actually about Nephele and Neri. I didn’t stay disappointed, though!
Neri has been such a giant asshole throughout this series, and I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I love when a cocky jerk is brought to his knees by a badass woman! That’s exactly what happens in this book. Neri makes a deal with Nephele to bring his body back from the dead, but no one expects him to learn what it is to be human after all these centuries of being a god.
I love Nephele because of just how awesome she is. She’s strong, cunning, confident and a fighter. She also loves hard, and that’s why she’s perfect for Neri. He needs a fierce warrior woman who can match his energy while also softening him.
I would definitely describe this as a slow burn in terms of spice, but when the spice hits it is a five-alarm FIRE! Whew!!
