Can I just say, WOW! I enjoyed the first one, but this was surpassed it. Romance, enemies to loves, plus questioning humanity and it’s moral? Yes, please.

I absolutely loved this continuation into the world of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
This time we meet Miriam in Jerusalem when her personal world falls apart. She meets an already established War on his rampage to end humanity. This is very Khal Drogo vibes with a harsh leader treating his woman like a queen. They overcome a lot of obstacles, obviously, as he is trying to destroy the world and she is trying to show him why it isn't worth destroying.
This is my favorite book in this series, I love the dynamics between the main characters and the new cover art is so gorgeous.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Bloom for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Well, I have to say, I love this one more than the first one.
Miriam is so hard headed and I loved it, she's a strong woman and I was loving, but conflicting, then back to loving it at the end! The really did bicker like a married couple and it was SO funny.
I would for now pick War over Pestilence. However, there are 2 more books and 2 more horsemen to read about. I'm excited!!
I have to say, my favorite part throughout this whole book would have to be the note War left Miriam: "For my I am hoping that if I feed you while I sleep, you won't try to stab me again. Consider this a peace offering." Because, literally same.

I loved the character War, and his beautiful love story. I had the same issues with the storytelling as I did in Pestilence, but that ending was worth everything. I liked the geographical location of the story and I can't wait to see where Famine's and Death's story takes us.

Preferred the first one, but still enjoyed! Overly long and was definitely frustrated with the main character more often than not.
