Charming free audible original. The included stories are exceptional; the interstitial banter is a little corny.

It’s like a comedy special on Netflix that you can’t see so you’re missing 50% of what makes it funny.
The whole story about Boogie Nights was the only good one.
It was free for a reason I suppose

This is a great road trip quickie. It's a little deceptive in the marketing, because although it says "by Tan France" and his face along with comedienne Nikki Levy grace the cover, they are basically the quippy hosts who introduce a series of stand-up acts (think 2 Dope Queens). The acts are all performed by queer and trans storytellers, and every one is wonderful. Would have liked more content from the hosts, and I think this should be more honest about what it is (i.e. NOT a book by Tan France).

At times both humorous and and heart-wrenching, these stories of LGBTQ+ people coming out, facing challenges, and being embraced for who they are will make you cry and cheer.

It was funny but the format just wasn't right. I think i would enjoy it more if it was a video.

Definitely more like a podcast than an audiobook, but the stories were great. The narration between was very forced, but the stories more than made up for it.

Of the queer stories presented here, the last one was the most touching and made me cry. I wish more of them were from our queer elders, as a matter of fact. All of them were by comedians or from people otherwise in some variety of the entertainment industry, and that was painfully obvious. Stereotypes were played up, sometimes to a physically painful degree - Percy, I'm glaring at you and your shrieking.
All in all, an okay listen. It wasn't 100% Corporate Queer, which I guess is as good as we're getting in North America right now.

This is a nice collections of stories. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had been longer but maybe it will become an annual production!
I found D.J. “Shangela” Pierce's story of his determination to see Beyoncé live the best humorous story and he had me laughing out loud several times. Gigi Gorgeous and Alexandra Billings' wonderful stories had moments of lightheartedness but overall dealt with issues of a much more somber nature. The lowest point in the collection for me was the very beginning of Janine Brito's story because it's never okay to peep on people, but I enjoyed the rest of her story.
While all the stories are preformed live in front of an audience, Tan France and Nikki Levy aren't hosting it live and the transitions between that live performance and the recorded introduction isn't always smooth, but that's not really that big of a deal. It's just something to be aware of.
