Oskar Voyik is the biggest troublemaker in the NHL. Sexual Playboy but also star defenseman of San Jose and his reputation is OUT of control. When Oskar gets caught (accidentally on purpose) having a very public threesome on CCTV, the owner of the team has had ENOUGH and gives PR Manager, Lane Pierce one last chance to get him in line before Lane gets the Axe and Oskar gets traded or worse, removed from the team per a morality clause!
Lane decides to take matters into his own hands. After Oskar gave the slip to every person he has sent his way, Lane decided HE will take on the role of Oskar's babysitter to ensure that, at the end of the day, they BOTH keep their jobs.
This book was equal parts hilarious and heartwarming. Though Oskar is this obnoxious playboy on the outside and his antics are always making me laugh, what lies beneath is a guy who has felt he has never been truly loved for who he is, only what his looks and monetary value can do for someone. So he has never let anyone get close enough to see the real him. When Lane starts to see the kind, warn hearted, beautiful soul underneath the facade that he has the potential to be, Lane begins to put his own trust issues aside and can't help but try more and more to bring it out of him. To show Oskar who he truly is and show him the love and support he has and deserves.
I have read this book multiple times and I just can't help but fall in love with Oskar's brattiness over and over again. Not to mention Damon King being such an icon! The audiobook for this one is really great! Alexander Cendese and Iggy Toma always do such an amazing job with voices, accents, and tone of each of the characters they bring to life. I hope to one day hear a duet audiobook from the two of them that would be awesome!!

Solid listen. I liked both Oskar and Lane, but also felt like we needed a little more character growth - they both had some rough stuff in their backgrounds (Lane's history of being used + his parents casting him out, and Oskar's very low self worth and lack of knowing himself ) that I felt like was set up that didn't quite get addressed as much as I wanted. I also wanted a little more exploration of the mutual crush they seemingly had on each other ahead of time. I think on the whole, this story just felt a little superficial and could have used a little more depth.
