So so so good
fast-paced

While this story is absolutely fascinating (and true, which is WILD), the narrative style didn't quite work for me. A quick read and somewhat unsatisfying, but I won't hold that against the author since he's just recounting a true story. Very interesting but uneven in terms of my level of absorption in the story.

Stéphane Breitwieser is the most prolific art thief in history. Starting at age 23, he stole >230 artworks from >170 museums & cathedrals over the course of 8 years. Absolutely insane. But, unlike other art thieves, his goal was never money. Breitwieser loved & hoarded art, and says he sole from a mix of compulsion & good intentions. This book is the most comprehensive & in-depth view of Breitwieser’s years of heists, and how they spiraled to an end.
No spoilers, but I cried. Definitely recommend this for history and art lovers.
The writing style was the only minus for me. It was narrated as if everything was happening in the present, instead of in past-tense. Might be a better print experience than audio!

This was a fine true crime novel about a prolific art thief.
