This is a really lovely coffee table book based on a museum exhibit. It's part Harry Potter bits and part real artifacts that have inspired the magical world of Harry Potter. I really enjoyed getting to see some of the sketches that J. K. Rowling did for the books. There were also some really beautiful pieces by some of the artists who have done artwork for the covers of various versions of the books. The artifacts were also interesting. It's a nice way to get a peak at the exhibit for those of us who can't make it to see it in person. It's not a must read by any means but I am glad that my library had a copy I could borrow.
On a side note, my library also has an audiobook version of this book. Not sure I see this as a book that would work well as an audiobook...

3.5 stjerne! Hadde gjort seg bedre som dokumentarfilm. Interessant.

A little interesting, but essentially felt like a cash grab for harry potter fans who will pay for anything relating to harry potter. Book just gives additional info on the book and movie and some of the real life connections/inspirations.
A collection accompanying the exhibition of the British Museum, starting october 2017. With great pictures of the exponats, little original manuscripts and drawings by J.K. Rowling and all of that surrounded by interesting information about history, art, magic and everything connected. I explicitly enjoyed the introductions to the chapters. A great little asset for Harry Potter fans.
Listened to the Audible Original Audiobook.
This was quite a bit of fun. Narrated by Natalie Dormer, but featuring Stephen Fry and Jim Dale (the Harry Potter audiobook narrators) as well as curators from the Harry Potter Magic Exhibits in London and New York, not to mention various scholars from a variety of disciplines.
This book selves into the history of the Harry Potter series itself, as well as the real-life magical history that helped ground the stories in the real world. This is really a must for Potterheads, the tidbits about the books (and the insights from all the contributors) are fascinating. The history bits are just as interesting and provide a nice counterpoint to the books.

Recomendo!
Not too bad.

World's greatest research library...the only one who could put this book together...interesting read.
