Review - I wish Robert and Madeline would make their relationship official, as it seems to not really have developed since the second book in the series. I love the idea of death at the Derby - it echoes [b:Death at Epsom Downs|556394|Death at Epsom Downs (Kathryn Ardleigh, #7)|Robin Paige|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388204752l/556394._SY75_.jpg|525806] by [a:Robin Paige|146237|Robin Paige|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1416576596p2/146237.jpg], which I also thoroughly enjoyed. I also really like the sparring matches between Colbeck and Tallis, as Colbeck always seems to have an answer for him and Tallis's lack of a sense of sarcasm or humour is really funny to read. This is a lovely little cosy crime mystery, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series, particularly how the different relationships develop and intertwine.

I loved it. I do think the jump to the derby is a bit of a leap, but hey it's fiction!

Yet another brilliant adventure of the Railway Detective first four books now finished moving on to book number five, if you are into Victorian crime this is the series, so get away from the TV and get reading.
