I'll admit, I saw the movie first on this. I actually had no intention of reading this series until I saw the movie. I just had to know what happened the characters. I couldn't wait for another somewhat-B-movie to find out. Even though I knew what was going to happen, I was still thrilled to read the story again and it was also entertaining to see what the movie didn't have in it. Totally awesome story for another YA vampire novel. Rose Hathaway is a brilliant character and I can't wait to see what shenanigans to gets up to in the rest of the series. (WARNING: this is not a literary masterpiece, but a totally fun story.)

4.5 stars. Not sure how I've never read this before but I loved it.
I am here for this series!! I am so excited to continue reading and find out what happens next! I am so glad to find a new series to love!
When I first starting reading this book I thought that is was a bit obvious and immature, but after a few chapters I was really drawn in to the story and the world that Richelle Mead had created. Can't wait to read more!
I have a soft spot for this series and happy that it is still there after a decade since the last time I read it.

ahhh omg so good. i remember wanting to read it when i was a teenager, maybe 13 but just never got around to it and 10 years later i decided - why not let’s give this a try even though technically i’m not in the age bracket anymore - big mistake! i so am. it’s ya but it’s not at the same time. the characters are great, you can feel the teenage vibes but i don’t mind. ah and the slow burn romans in both cases of rose and dimitri and lisa and christian . you’ll be sucked in instantly, pun intended.
