Rounded up more for the secondary romance of the young adults, one of whom Diane is defending and seem more mature than the main characters.

Diane's and Caine's story.

I've been told by my friends that the MacGregor series gets better, and I'm excited to keep reading it. The first two just haven't been my favourite Nora books. I've found the male protagonists in both of them (Justin and Caine) to be aggressive to the point of making me a bit uncomfortable at times. Also, I really loved the scenes between Justin and Diana in this book, and I wish there'd been more of that. But I absolutely love the dynamic in the MacGregor family and can't wait to read more of it!

Love the characters and the ending. Such a great series. I think Caine was my favorite of the 3 siblings. Definitely fictional man crush

  • Truly do not believe Diana loves Caine.
  • Diana is annoying af and needs SO. MUCH. THERAPY.
  • Mainly read this to see what’s next for Justin and Serena
  • Shout out to Nora Roberts for using that one bed trope in 1985, there’s a reason she’s an OG romance author
  • Will I keep reading the series? Absolutely.

ooh how i hated it. again it wasn’t a long book but it felt never ending.

i wanted to shake fmc so bad so many times. i don’t remember the last time i despised the female main character that much.

the way i liked previous fmc from the start, i disliked this one. she judged and jumped to conclusion too quickly. she was way too uptight and close minded. we didn’t meet her infamous aunt but from descriptions fmc was a carbon copy of her - judging and snobby.

she was referring to his “reputation” but all she knew - his history from several years ago from university days. wtf girl?? check your sources.

i wanted to see fmc finally changing. i wanted her to confront her aunt about her restrictive and unhappy childhood but nope. we only got the unhealed after mass of her childhood that hurt everyone around her.

i liked mmc. he was playful and funny and generous. it’s a pity he got such an awful fmc. i wanted someone better for him. he deserved better.

3.5 out of 4

The second story in the MacGregor series, recently re-released in eBook form ($6.99 for both Nook & Kindle).

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a huge Nora Roberts fan, but honestly, of all of the series, minus Mac (book #9), this is one of my favorites.

Caine is the former Attorney General, now working in his own firm. Of him, and one other person, his secretary, a soap-opera obsessed, organized chaos type of character. A wonderful woman, though. Love her!

Diana is Justin's sister. She thinks he abandoned her, but finds out that what she had been told was all false, with no truth.

Of course, things get all clusterfluffed when The MacGregor, Daniel, Caine's father, gets involved. It forces Serena to give advice, which she hates, but in the end, love wins out.

It's a beautiful story with believable happenings, amazing family dynamics that, even years after reading for the first time, I'm still jealous of.

Nora Roberts is in a class all by herself with her series. It always leaves us wanting more. Not more because something is left hanging, but more, like we would be content to read about everyday boring lives, just because we get so hooked into those characters.
