I am going to start this off by saying I am a hardcore anti nonfiction reader. If the genre is lucky I maybe one every year to two years. That being said, this book was beautiful.
For me, the best part was when she talked about how she was going through life with her check engine light on. That comparison caused me to promptly burst into tears because my check engine light is on without a doubt.

I wanted to like this book SO bad - my love of dogs, independent women doing badass shit, my awe of the desert. I went in blind - no idea who she was - and just found it whiny & annoying. Trying too hard to clear her conscience? So much potential but a no for me.
AMAZING book. Beautiful story. I’d like to gut out and live in a van, now.
Bri is fucking inspiring and this book is everything.

Look, I’ve read plenty of books written by deeply problematic people. I’m not gonna NOT read the book written by a lady I’ve followed online for years, even if her insatiable need to be seen and liked has driven her to make shady-as-shit choices. She’s an unreliable narrator. What the fuck ever.
This book is beautiful. Is it a perfect recounting of events? No. Has she omitted details that could be pretty damning? Probably. But I didn’t come here for the news. I came here to see if she could put into words the feeling of the videos and photos she has shared on Instagram and the answer is: yeah, man.
I enjoyed listening to this book and I’d probably listen to it again. It would be great roadtrip listening, a companion on an endless drive.
Oh, and all the shitty commenters on here who grouse that “nothing that bad really happens to her so her depression is unwarranted” can kick rocks.

She’s a great writer and would do anything for her dogs, and is holding online bullies/stalkers accountable. The best kind of person in my opinion. F*ck around and find out, but don’t sleep on her book.
I’ve followed Brianna on Instagram for a couple of years now and have always admired her “van-life” journey so to hear it from her and to get some more of the details to such a harrowing experience that was Dag’s accident is really something.
Great first memoir for the author - beautifully written and very inspirational. I do feel like the story felt incomplete at the end, likely because she’s still young. Hopefully she writes another memoir to continue telling her story.
I absolutely ADORED this book. It was an easy read, but amazingly written. Brianna is a beautiful storyteller that so skillfully weaves pieces of her life story into an inspirational, heartfelt tale of the successes, joys, failures, and adventures that come with taking risks and living for yourself. As a young woman finding my place in life, this book spoke to me in such an incredible way. I highly recommend it!
