I'm conflicted on this one. Had I not read into the back story I would say it was an interesting read, especially for those interested in VanLife. But it does seem that this memoir isn't as honest and raw as one would want to see, considering the controversies surrounding the author. The opportunity to clear the air didn't seem to address some outstanding issues.

This memoir describes the author's unique lifestyle of traveling all over the American West while living in a van (not a fancy new-style RV, either!). She goes back to her childhood and examines what led to her unusual lifestyle choices and how she and her husband (who lived in the van with her) met and ended up living this way with their two dogs. It's an engrossing and fascinating story, and she reads it herself (which I always enjoy with a memoir), so I enjoyed it very much. I talk more about the book in this video, starting at 11:11: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks3SYHsqgCQ

There simply aren’t words to describe how excited I was for this book to finally be released and for it to come all the way from Moab. I have following Brianna on instagram for almost a decade and followed as she so bravely shared her story to the world. This book is everything and more to get to know Brianna and her true story about her life, the dogs, and her inspiring adventures of being free.

Just another travel memoir. It felt a like it was trying too hard to be insightful. There were a few good stories within the book, but I was left wanting more.

Raw, emotional, and deeply validating read. Memoir about a choosing the road less traveled, joy of simplicity and powerful healing of nature and dogs.
