Damn. This choreopoem is ALIVE. I'm not very experienced with either poetry or drama so I wasn't very confident I would "get it." But I've never experienced a text leaping off the page like this. It was so powerful and so vibrant and so authentic.

Some moments I felt would have been pretty radical in 1975, but all moments were still relevant in 2022.

Intense and beautifully wrought. This is a work that blends a play format with poems. Each female character is wearing a different color. There are stage directions in italics. Some of the poems were difficult to read - because of intense content like rape, abortion, HIV, domestic violence - and difficult to follow. Watching this performed would be amazing.
