OH MY GOODNESS! Zoyas character development was so amazing in this book! I love her so much! 💗💗💗 Also the other characters were so amazing! It was so cool that the Crows showed up again! >o< The thing I didn’t enjoy about this duology was the big war aspect. I also found the end a little far fetched and rushed, but overall it was a good and enjoyable book!
QUEEN ZOYA!!! 💗
Also I will never forgive Leigh Bardugo for killing of David, especially on his wedding night ?!?!?!?? ;-; He was my favorite character ToT

It’s rare that I enjoy sequels more, but Leigh Bardugo really delivers. It was interesting to explore Fjerda and Shu Han more and understand the political conflicts of this universe. I loved getting to revisit old characters and see where they are now. It’s a wonderful way to wrap up the grishaverse while also leaving it open for a potential future. Nothing beats the SOC duology, but it was fun and enjoyable.

Leigh Bardugo’s best work. The world she’s built through the past 2 duologies comes together beautifully here. Seeing past characters again was a delight. The pacing here is also consistent rather than shoving a bunch of action into the final 100 pages. My heart was repeatedly broken and put back together.

At 600 pages, it could definitely been cut in half—for example, I really don’t think Mayu’s point of view was necessary or added much to the plot line. I did love Nikolai and Zoya, and while I didn’t live for Nina’s pov, in the end I was glad for it. I also loved seeing the crows again, in various ways, though the fact we barely saw Inej gave the distinct feeling of a show having a reunion that one actor was too busy to join. Alina showing up and literally doing nothing also gave that reunion vibe. So it was a little boring but I didn’t hate it. However, the ending gives me hope we will see the crows back in full action again and I am all here for it.

📖 Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo Book Review 📖

7th book of January 2023 and 7th of the year:

I’m proud of myself because I read multiple books that were very long this month, and in a short amount of time if I may add, and I hope that I continue on with this trend throughout the year!

It was so nice to be back in this world as I wait for Shadow and Bone season 2! It had strong and lovable complex characters, great writing and world-building, beautiful relationships and friendships, witty dialogue, and well-written and engaging fight scenes. Six of Crows is still my favorite series in this world, but I still enjoyed this a lot and recommend the Grishaverse as a whole! Also, the sounds I let out when the crows were mentioned were alarming😂(and that’s not a spoiler because one of the point of view narrators is a crow). TW for ableism, abuse, addiction, blood, bullying, child abuse, chronic illness, classism, confinement, death, drug use/forced drug use, dysphoria, genocide, grief, gun violence and weapons use, forced institutionalization, kidnapping, medical content/trauma, misogyny, murder, panic attacks, rape, religious bigotry, sexism, slavery, slurs, suicidal thoughts, torture, trafficking, violence, war, and xenophobia📚🫀👑🐉
