I think I just had too high expectations going in to this. It seemed like it should have been everything I like in a book, but it really could have benefitted from some tighter editing. It was overall fun and colourful, The side characters were fun, the cats were cute but featured….. barely at all, really, and the main character is too stupid to live.

How can a book be so full of action and yet have nothing happen? I feel like every chapter was one step forward and two steps back. I understand that Eva (Ava?) was meant to go through character development and learn to be vulnerable but the journey was not worth it, in my opinion.

I did not like the ending! ahh why isn't the next book out already!?!

Space capers. I liked the personality of the main character, a strong latina woman. But it felt like there were a lot of missed opportunities. Like why weren't the hypnotic cats a bigger plot point? The writing could have been stronger.

Not feeling it. Characters are annoying and everything feels so ridiculous I couldn't keep listening.

It’s like the crew of The Long Way to a Small, Angry planet was more chaotic with the vibes of Space Opera, but with higher stakes. A fun romp through space.
