I am really glad that other people have mentioned the use of the d slur because I thought it was kind of jarring, especially because the protagonist says she isn't gay. I did think this was fairly nuanced in the way it depicted direct transphobia v. fetishization v. problematic allyship (and etc) in the separate issues Phoebe runs into with each friend, and how cis people can cause harm without realizing it. There's also some discussion of what it means to be a woman in relation to men and I appreciate that this doesn't shy away from complex topics, though it doesn't always stick the landing.
