It’s kind of like someone asked AI to watch 50 hours of CSI and then make it a spicy novel.

Made it to chapter 6 and I just could not get into it. It was repetitive, the story line was mediocre, I couldn’t follow the writing, or the characters. It was just all in all not good.

This one actually surprised me in a good way. The plot felt fresh—dark, twisty, and different from others I’ve read in the genre. I liked that the characters weren’t just thrown in randomly; they were all connected to the story in a way that made the big reveal feel earned. I knew it was Derek and Tristian, then gaslit myself into thinking I was wrong 😂. The suspense element was well done and kept me hooked. My only gripe? Every single interaction between Derek and Alex before the reveal felt like a therapy session. Him constantly checking in—“Are you okay? I’m here if you need someone”—was sweet at first but started to feel repetitive real fast. Still, it was a quick, engaging read that kept me turning pages.
