I didn't like the structure or tone of the female main character, but was able to get past the formalness of how she speaks. it does match with the FBI persona. I felt like this got better as it went on. the reveal of the killers wasn't a far reach and I'm not sure I'll continue the series but I'd say this was slightly above average overall.

I almost DNFed after the first chapter. The first almost 100 pages is so repetitive. The premise is good, but the writing sounds like an AI version of Carrie Bradshaw wrote it at times.

Am I going to jail for reading this

Writing is SO bland and robotic.
I had the first murderer pegged by page 5 and the other by page 20. Then waited over 200 pages for proof.
Zero details about the case that they're working so diligently on. Alex has no personality or reason to root for her like ever.
The twist about her past seemed like a last second thought since it was only very vaguely mentioned once before that point.

Only redeeming quality was the spice, and the repetitive "
the intensity of the moment
" comments kept me from getting into it. Even the audio version sounded robotic. At one point I even googled it the author had any AI allegations. I honestly would've DNF'd but I was reading it for a book club.

Truth or Dare
Little Darling

OMG….Read it!

My Synopsis:
Agent Darling is an up and coming FBI Profiler with an affinity of thinking like and getting into the minds of unalivers. When she’s brought into a difficult case with a meticulous duo she’s bitten off more than she can chew. Can she solve the case without loosing herself and falling into the dark side?

My Review:
Holy Moley! I knew from the synopsis that this was going to be a good book, but I was not ready for the plot twists, ongoing mystery, and the level of spice. This was such an enjoyable read I would recommend this to ANYONE who enjoys a dark romance full of trigger warnings. If you’re debating on whether or not to read this…just read it you won’t regret it.

Tropes:

Kinks (Breathe Play/Primal Play)

Spicy as hell but that was about it for me.

The plot was so promising but ended up being way too repetitive for me.

She gets stalked, they drug her to knock her out, she wakes up, showers, repeat. Day in and day out.

Also them being actual brothers???? That was too much for me 😅
fast-paced
