Is it good? No. Do you know who the bad guys are immediately? Yes. Is it written awfully? Yep. Was it really fun to berate with my book club? YES. She’s a really stupid FBI agent and she should never have been given a gun or a badge.

I like the concept of the book but there is far too much repetition in the descriptions. The way the FBI agents talk about the MMCs not leaving any breadcrumbs (I mean - obviously? They want to get away with their crimes, right?), how they’re unhinged, etc. If it weren’t for some spelling errors (see below), I would have thought that this book was maybe written by AI. Also the author doesn’t explain how the FBI is somehow just now getting involved yet there are case photos & info from multiple prior victims. Some procedural stuff is glossed over that would make the story more interesting - maybe include some of the interviews Alex does with folks that knew the victims. Add more depth about how that impacts her mental health, etc.

Normally I can gloss over spelling errors but there were a decent amount in the Kindle Unlimited version that I’m reading. Examples - Pore instead of pour & focussed instead of focused both in chapter 4.

I know it takes a lot to write a book and I think that there is a lot of promise with the general concept, but it doesn’t seem like a lot of editing occurred. I think if edits were made to remove some of the repetition (even if that made it a shorter), it would flow so much better.

I find myself just skimming through instead of being really absorbed in this.

DNF @ 30%.
The dialogue is killing me. NO ONE talks like this?? It’s just repeating the same sentences over and over again but worded differently? It feels like a 13 year old wrote this and just added a bunch of words to hit the word count.
I’m so sorry to author but I just cannot read anymore of this without fear of ripping my hair out

This book had me in an utter chokehold!

I read book 1 of the Darling Games in hope it will drag me out of a reading slump and it did.

The book itself is medium paced with a backstory and lots, lots of spice. Trigger warnings need to be checked before reading and had all the smut and spice I wanted from a book.

It is a MFM romance and I devoured the book. The way that the two MMCs love her equally and want our FMC to embrace her inner darkness and to be herself is wholesome in contrast of the plot of the book.

I found the characters loveable and I loved the writing style as it was an easy read.

If your after a dark romance, stalker, threesome MFM romance read… try a Maree Rose book.

She is a new author that I have read and I am loving her. I will defiently be reading more of her in the future and purchasing more books,
